About Seabra's Market
Located at 260 Lafayette St, Newark, NJ 07105, Seabra's Market operates as a chinese supermarket serving Newark in New Jersey. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.
Store size varies enormously, from a small corner grocery with a few aisles to a full supermarket chain location in Newark with a bakery, seafood counter and food court under one roof. Sales and promotions are often posted in-store or in a weekly flyer rather than online, so prices listed on a website may be out of date. Seafood markets sell live and on-ice product and can usually clean or prepare fish on request for a small fee. Specialty food stores in New Jersey may focus narrowly on one category, like a butcher, a rice and dry goods shop, or an import store, so calling ahead to confirm stock for a specific item saves a wasted trip.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. The most common schedule is 7 amβ10 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (973) 589-8606. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is seabrasmarket.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.
Its Google rating is 4.2 out of 5 from 2,225 reviews, a solid but mixed picture; reading the most recent reviews will tell you what to expect.
Newark is in New Jersey, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Traffic in Newark peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Poor customer service and overpriced items. You can find much better deals at larger chain stores. Whatβs most concerning is the uncomfortable environment. As a person of color, I experienced being stared at and followed by both workers and customers, which made me feel like I didnβt belong there. This is the second location Iβve visited, and unfortunately it was the same experience both times. Thatβs disappointing, especially because I genuinely appreciate different cultures, foods, and respect people from all walks of life. I hope management takes this seriously and works toward creating a more welcoming and respectful environment for everyone.

Great produce and fish market. Portuguese and South American cuts of meat and sausage. Spanish products, great olive oil selection. Portuguese cheese!!! My regular grocery shopping.

First time at this market. I was impressed. The people working there were very friendly. The store was stocked nicely too.

Lots of Portuguese products and produce. The Portuguese bakery is top notch and makes amazing desserts and pastel de nata

Expensive for a neighborhood supermarket... They have weekly products on sale, so occasionally there's a good deal. But it is pretty complete and I like that they have Spanish Xmas sweets already!
